What advice can you give about figuring out one's purpose/career in life versus just doing something for other people (family, for example)? Where does one find that confidence and belief in themselves to go out and just do it (basically, I'm asking, where did the belief in yourself in the very beginning of your career come from? I remember reading that your mom said if you did not get a record deal within the first year, you would have to go to college or find a job.)?
