Mr. Steal Yo’ Girl Part 3
Automated System: “This is the Atlanta Corrections Detention Facility. You have a collect call from…Marcus… Press “1” if you would like to accept this call; otherwise, hang up.
S: “Oh my god…what did he do?” Presses 1.
Marcus: “Hi. Simone?”
S: “Yeah, Marcus what did you do?”
M: “I don’t want to get into it. Can you go to the apartment and get my checkbook and bring it here? I need you to bail me out.”
S: “Ummm, I can’t”, remembering that Trey forbad her to go near him. “Can’t you call someone else?”
M: “I don’t have anybody else I can call! No one I know has this kind of money. Do you REALLY think I wanted to call you? I had no choice. You have a key to the apartment, and even more…you owe me this.”
S: Pained with guilt, “Ok, where are you?
M: “I’m on 254 Peachtree at the Atlanta Corrections Detention. (Chuckling) You can’t miss the barb wires. Look, I’ve been in here for two days. I need to get out before I lose my job. Can you hurry up?”
S: “What happened?”
M: “I don’t want to talk about it right now. Can you just come?”
S: “Okay, I’ll be there in an hour.”
Simone hops in the convertible Porsche that Trey got for her and drives over to the apartment that she and Marcus once shared. She was sure that Marcus would have changed the locks, but her key still worked. She unlocked the door and stepped in. The apartment reeked from the overflowing trash and Marcus’ socks. Gnats were everywhere. She remembered how she had to always tell him to take out the trash and to only wear his socks one time. She got an eerie feeling being there. It wasn’t her home anymore. She had some great memories there with Marcus, but she had a lot of bad ones too. She walks over to the étagère that housed tiny figurines that she collected. “I remember when he threw me right into you. He knew how much I loved you and he destroyed you. I had to be hospitalized for a concussion after my glass eagle sculpture fell on my head. I can still remember the blood spilling down my ear and over my eyes. I thought for sure that was it for me. (Tearful) How did I manage to stay? Love ain’t supposed to make me feel this way. It ain’t supposed to hurt or cause me pain. Marcus you’ve made me cry way too much! I don’t know why I’m here.” Simone closes her eyes in an attempt to put everything in perspective. “I’ll just bail him out this one time and then I’ll have my number changed. This is it.”
Simone wiped her eyes. She wanted to get out of this place as quickly as she came. She knew exactly where Marcus kept his checkbook. She went over to the entryway table in the foyer, pulled out the drawer, and grabbed his checkbook. She took one last look at the apartment and then locked the door behind her. “Never again”, she thought to herself. She made it to the holding detention within an hour. Bail was $10,000 and she had to pay 10% of that. She wondered if her leaving him made him snap and do something crazy. Hopefully he would tell her now what he did.
She sits in the waiting room while they gather Marcus. After approximately 45 minutes, Marcus appears. The police officer removes his handcuffs. He was rugged with facial hair and he smelled. Marcus looked at Simone with disgust. He loathed having to call her but he didn’t want to worry anyone else. The police officer hands him his belongings and tell him he’s free to go.
M: “Thanks”, he says to the officer.
Simone walks up to him:
S: “Hi. Are you okay?”
M: “Fine. Can we get outta here?”
They leave out and walk to her car.
M: Laughing, “I can’t believe you picked me up in this nigga’s car. Are you for real? This shit is for the birds.”
S: “It’s not his car. It’s mine.”
M: “But he bought it for you, right?”
S: “Yeah, and?”
M: “You are one foul bitch.”
S: “Excuse me! You’re calling me names when I done drove down here and bailed your raggedy ass outta jail?”
M: Coming closer to her, “Who you calling raggedy?”
Simone backs up, scared that he would hit her.
S: “Look, calm down. Can you tell me what happened?”
M: “Can you just take me home?”
S: “Get in.”
Simone kept trying to make small talk but Marcus wouldn’t talk back to her. She pulls into the apartment complex’s parking lot, but Marcus stays in the car looking down at his fingers in deep thought. She just wanted him to get out but she couldn’t help but to reflect on their relationship…after all, she once loved him with all her heart.
S: “What happened with us Marcus?”
M: Marcus looks at her with the most diabolical gaze, “You became a whore – that’s what happened to us. Really Simone? You just fucking leave out with him? I never meant shit to you. So what, you’re some type of groupie now? You just follow him all over the place? WHAT?
Simone just takes it in. She knew he was hurting, and she wanted to allow him to release that. He felt betrayed and had every reason to say these things to her, she thought.
M: “When he’s tired of your pussy and throws you out, don’t come running back to me. I’m through with yo’ ass.”
S: “I understand. What I did was wrong, but I truly believe if you treated me right that I would’ve never done that.”
M: “What the fuck you talkin’ bout? I treated your ass like a queen. You make $10 fucking dollars an hour. I put a roof over your head, get your hair and nails done, I feed you – bitch I took GREAT care of you!”
S: “I’m not gonna be too many more of your bitches. You beat the hell outta me every chance you got. So yeah, when something that looked a lot better came along, I jumped on it. The way the shit happened was bogus, but you know what? You deserved it!”
Marcus is infuriated. He grabs her by the neck and begins to choke her.
S: Crying, “Marcus…stop, PLEASE STOPPPPP!!! You’re killlllinnng me…PLLLEEAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSE!”
M: He lets her go, “I hate you!!! Die bitch.”
He gets out the car, but before closing the door he says, “I was arrested for setting an illegal fire. All yo’ clothes, shoes, pictures…EVERYTHING is toast!” He slams the door, breaking her passenger window.
Simone rests her arms on the steering wheel, clutches her head and begins to cry. “Oh my God…how am I gonna explain this window to Trey?” Distraught…she drives on home.
She pulls up in the driveway and sees Trey’s car there. Just then she gets a text message:
Trey: “Where you at babe?”
She closes her phone, walks up the stairs, and opens the door with her key. Trey was in the family room playing video games, but turned around the moment he heard her footsteps.
T: Getting up to greet her, “Hey babe…I just texted you.” He throws his arms around her and then attempts to kiss her lips. “What’s wrong?”
S: “Nothing, why?”
T: “You’ve been crying. Your eyes are blood-shot red. What happened?”
S: “Oh nothing, you know how I am. I cry over the dumbest things.”
T: Skeptical, “Where were you?”
S: Long pause, “Ummm…”
T: He interrupts, “Think about this carefully before you decide to lie to me. I want the truth and I want it now.”
S: “Marcus was in jail and he asked me to bail him out. I felt like I owed him at least that, so I went.”
T: “WHAT?!?! How the hell you let him guilt-trip you into that? We just talked about this. Do you still love him? I mean seriously, why the hell am I here if you gone keep running to his ass when he says he needs you?”
S: “I don’t love him anymore Trey. I love you. I just felt like everything went down so bogus that I should at least do this for him.”
T: “Would you have told me if I never asked you?”
T: “No…..you wouldn’t have. I can’t believe this shit.” Shakes his head and walks away.
S: “Trey, I’m sorry.”
T: “What are you sorry for Simone? Are you sorry for bailing this nigga outta jail or are you sorry for lying to me about it? Which one is it…I’m confused?”
S: She reaches for him, “Trey, please don’t be like this.”
T: He notices a bruise on the side of her neck. He pulls her closer to him by her head. He tilts her face and examines her neck. “Simone DID HE DO THIS TO YOU?!?!?”
Simone breaks down in tears.
T: “OH MY GODDDD!!! HE PUT HIS HANDS ON YOU?!
Simone couldn’t talk, but she didn’t have to. He already knew what happened.
T: “What’s the address?”
T: “Fuck woman, you heard me! What is the address to the apartment?”
S: “212 Constitution Road. You’re not going there are you?”
Trey pushes her out the way and leaves to get ready.
S: “Please don’t go there Trey. I don’t want anything to happen to you. He has a bad temper. Please just don’t go!”
T: “Don’t you worry about me…keep yo’ ass here and don’t leave out this door.”
Trey goes to his bedroom and throws on a jogging suit. He jumps in the maserati and calls up Alonzo - head security. “I got this situation and I need you with me. I can handle it but if things get outta hand…”
Alonzo: “Oh no problem man, I gotcha back. What’s up?”
T: “I’m about 15 minutes away from you. Get ready.”
A: “No prob…honk when you out front.”
T: “Okay” and he hangs up.
Trey pulls up to Alonzo’s crib and honks. Alonzo was down within a minute. Climbs in.
A: “Hey man. What’s up?”
T: “My girl’s ex just choked the shit outta her and I’m about to beat this nigga’s ass.”
A: “Awww, man! Dude, you can’t go over there. Let me and the guys handle it. If anyone see you, it’s a wrap.”
T: “Naw…this nigga used to beat her ass all the time and now he chokes her. I gotta teach this nigga a lesson.”
A: “But don’t do it like…”
T: “I’VE MADE UP MY MIND! I’m fucking his punk ass up. Are you in or do you want me to let yo’ ass out the car?”
A: “Naw man, Imma ride.”
T: “Okay then, ain’t no talkin’ me out this shit.”
Alonzo was well aware of Trey’s attitude. He was always ready for a fight, but his fame made him calm down some. He’s back in that place now and it’s nothing to be said to calm him down. Alonzo just gave in and rode.
Trey pulled up to the apartment and then realized he needed to figure out how he was going to get in. He goes to the door and sees Marcus’ name on the mailbox, which also contains the apartment number. He realizes the guard is a female, so he figured he’d try to charm his way in. Trey rings the bell and is buzzed in.
Guard: “Good evening sir. Who are you here to see?”
T: “Hi Sweetheart. I’m Trey and this is my boy Alonzo. We’re here from New York and I wanted to surprise my boy Marcus in 14F. He doesn’t know I’m in town, so I would really like to surprise him. Will you help me out pretty lady?” He flashes his million dollar smile.
Guard: Blushing, “Well…I’m not supposed to, but go ahead.”
T: “Thank you honey. You’re the best.” Trey presses the elevator button and ride up to the 14th floor. He steps out and finds Marcus’ apartment number. “C’mon Alonzo. Remember, I got this. I just need you to step in if things get outta hand.”
A: “Okay, but take it inside immediately. I’m not tryna spend tonight in jail Trey.”
T: “I gots this.” Knock, knock, knock!!!
Marcus just opens the door without ever asking who it was. He is caught off guard. Trey pushes him inside and Marcus immediately tries to get his arms around Trey’s neck. Before he could do so, Trey had already punched him in his eye and nose. Marcus was bleeding and choking on blood. Trey flips him down on the ground and begins kicking him in his side. Marcus kicks Trey’s leg from underneath him. Alonzo starts to step forward but Trey yells for him to stay where he is. Trey crawled on top of Marcus and continued to pummel on his face.
T: “You bad enough to hit a woman…can you hit a man? You fucking pussy!!! HIT ME! HIT ME! Did you really think I was gonna let you get away with choking the shit outta her and that was gonna be it? Trey punches him in his lip and blood squirted everywhere.
T: “You fucking loser. If you ever come near her again, I will kill you myself.”
Marcus, badly beaten and choking on his own blood could only beg for mercy. Trey went to the kitchen and washed off his hands.
A: “MANNNNN, YOU GOT KNOCKED THE FUUCCCK OUTTTT!!!” he says to Marcus.
T: Trey is too mad to laugh, “You stupid. Let’s bounce.”
Elevator ride down:
A: “Damn man, I thought you were gonna kill him. Remind me to stay on yo’ good side. Well…you feel betta?”
T: Trey hunches his shoulders. “I don’t play that shit. You know how I am about the women in my life. I love my ladies and ain’t nobody gonna mistreat them. He had it coming.”
D: “What if he reports you?”
T: “He wouldn’t do that, cause then he got some explaining to do about her neck.”
Alonzo nods his head in agreement.
T: “Thanks man for having my back…even though I didn’t need it”, he laughs.
A: “Whateva…but you right though. THAT nigga needed my help! He won’t eva forget that ass whoopin’ that’s fa-show. He won’t touch her again.”
T: “Then my mission is accomplished.”
Elevator doors open:
T: “Thank you honey for that.”
Guard: “Oh you’re welcome. That was fast. Was he surprised?”
T: “Yeah, he was pretty surprised. He gotta get up early for work in the morning, so we didn’t want to stay long. We’ll be back though.”
Guard: “Okay, have a great evening.”
T: “And you do the same sunshine.”
Trey drops Alonzo off at home and drove to the crib. He pulls up to the gate…
Police: “Freeze! Put your hands up where we can see them.”
Trey lifts his arms… “DAMN!!!”
Stay tuned for part 4 to see what happens to Trey, Marcus, and Simone.
