The song is catchy but I don’t like the words. I think she has a nice voice. Yes I saw Trey’s version on the Kings Of Leon song and I love it. I’ve noticed he has been singing it at most of the OMG concerts.

@JIMS & @SShorty - I hate to admit it but I actually like "I Kissed a Girl." I remember my BFF riding in the car w/ me & it came on. She was bopping her head to it but she wasn't bopping like she was w/ the other songs. I looked at her, she looked at me & we started cracking up. I said, "I kind of like this song"...she screamed & said "ME TOOOO, but I felt ashamed!" Too funny...so even though I'd never kiss a girl...the song is kind of catchy. I also love Teenage Dream & California Girls. She was on MTV unplugged earlier this year & I recorded it. She was great.

Did yall watch Trey's MTV Unplugged? I loved when he song Kings of Leon - just needed to be longer.

Sshorty

Oh I like that song “Soul Sista”. I’m sorry I’m not a fan of that kissed a girl song. I love the "Teenage Dream" song though.

SShorty's picture

@JIMS

Train sings "Soul Sista." I like that song btw. I also like Maroon 5's music

@Tricia

I don't mind hearing Bon Jovi songs at all and I like all of Daughtry's material thus far

@both of you: what do you think of Katy Perry? I thought her 'kissed a girl' song was
interesting, but I didn't really pay her mind after that...however she has gained my attention
again with her new song "firework"...I really like it

TriggaLILangel's picture

i would deffo say trey on here because he also the less arogont person, i mean he made the D.O.A song and that was just saying other peoples point of views but he was just telling it how it is right !! and R kelly took it wrong on went on some big hype and started beefin n shit like there was no need

JesusIsMySavior's picture

I'm not sure what Train sings, but I will check them out. I like Maroon 5 music, Mr. Levine has a nice singing voice.

Tricia AKA @GimmeUnusual's picture

@JesusIsMySavior - I just realized that I didn't even list the Rock Artist I saw - it was Daughtry. It was a great show & I've been listening to his music since then. I like a lot of songs from Bon Jovi too - Kings of Leon, Train, Maroon 5, & I'm sure there are more.

SShorty's picture

Bump for Trey'sBaby26

feel free to answer the questions...

JesusIsMySavior's picture

You have seen a lot of good artists. I haven't seen Mary perform since the 90s.

Nothing wrong with listening to Rock there are a lot of good songs out there. I was at a club that played different forms of music and Bon Jovi came on and I almost lost my mind. LOL A brother was looking at me like I was crazy but it was all good. I like some country music too.

Prince and James that's great. The Village People that's interesting. What did he say about Trey? Yes and have your brother call you on the phone and have Trey talk to you. Bobby is a real artist. LOL I love my Bobby wish he could get himself together. I saw him back in the days and he was a really good performer.

Tricia AKA @GimmeUnusual's picture

OMG...I am forgetting so many other concerts I've been to. Last year I also saw Robin Thicke & Jennifer Hudson. The year before that I went to a Macy's Music Festival in Ohio where Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke, Brian McKnight, The Temptations, The O'Jays, Lyfe Jennings, Heather Headley & Frankie Beverly & Maze performed. I think it was a couple more acts, but I can't remember who they were. That was an ALL day concert and it rained!!!

I wasn't really into Rock, but my friend bought 2 tickets & wasn't able to sell the 2nd one. She asked me if I wanted to go & I told her I wasn't a fan of rock & didn't want to spend money on a genre that I wasn't crazy about. She said she'd give it to me for free, so I went & I actually enjoyed myself. Since then I've been listening to more rock - and just more different styles. I've fallen in-love with Rascal Flatts (country). So I'm expanding my horizons. I also forgot that my brother was a bouncer at the House of Blues in Vegas and I saw Prince and James Brown the same weekend (for free) LOL My brother has been in Vegas for about 5 years now, so it was right after he moved there & I went to visit him. I so miss him working for the different clubs...free entrance & free drinks all night. He called me today & told me he'll be touring with The Village People. He plays percussion. And guess what else he shared with me...he told me that he's met Trey Songz 5 or 6 times in Vegas. Trey rehearses in the same studio that my brother & his band rehearse at. So jealous!!! I told him he better call me the next time he sees him. He played with Bobby Brown last year - I hope he gets in with a real artist soon! LOL

R. Kelly would be more successful because of time and Micheal Jackson, but as far as the other questions Trey Songz is the answer. R. Kelly can not rap nor can he sing at different altos and tenors and he is not good looking that's why he prefers younger woman because they're too full of cum and curious to see pass the fame.

JesusIsMySavior's picture

The only reason I went to see R. Kelly is because my cousin had a free extra ticket. I don't recall ever having a desire to go on my own to see him. The last time I saw Usher perform is when his cd My Way came out and I only paid $10. Janet Jackson I would love to see her. I love a lot of Daughtry's songs. You know I live in NY and have never seen Lion King and I have heard so many positive reviews of that show. Kris Angel is interesting. Prior to this year I went to a few free concerts in the park. The last paid concert I went to was Prince.

Tricia AKA @GimmeUnusual's picture

I like a lot of R-Kelly's songs, but I have never been to one of his concerts & I can't say I have the true desire to go. I've been to an Usher concert & a Janet Jackson concert...oh last year I went to a Daughtry concert. Other than that I usually go see plays. LOVED the Lion King...saw it in Vegas. I also seen Kris Angel (the magician or illusionist - whatever they wanna be called), that was good. So I don't go to too many concerts. I'm looking forward to this one though.

JesusIsMySavior's picture

Yes that is the main category I think Trey wins in. Though I feel both are nice looking men I like Trey's looks better.

I've been to a R. Kelly concert and it was the most boring show I have been to. Trey's concerts are very entertaining.

Tricia AKA @GimmeUnusual's picture

@SShorty...discussions go off topic ALL the time...like you told me "It's a part of life".

I agree with @JesusIsMySavior - R-Kelly wins in some categories, but not all. He is not better looking than Trey. He is more successful & more popular but when it comes to talent I previously said R-Kelly, but I'd like to change that to both of them being very talented. It's a tie! But yes, that still makes R-Kelly the winner for me as well; however, I probably wouldn't go to an R-Kelly concert while I'm breaking my neck to go to Trey's.

JesusIsMySavior's picture

I know it’s not the R. Kelly VS. Babyface thread. LOL I’m good I don’t want to start a thread like that’s not my style. :)

I’m glad you like both. They are both talented men.

In some of the categories Mr. Kelly is the winner. :)

SShorty's picture

Okay this thread is not called "R.Kelly & Babyface" lol
if y'all wanna make a thread entitled that, that's fine with me

but I entitled this thread "Trey Songz vs R.Kelly"

but just to humor you JIMS, I'll answer...

I'd pick both R.Kelly and Babyface because to me they're on the same level...
none is better...both write & produce...also for soundtracks and both sold millions and
their overall catalog of works, is large...

but in this comparison thread...clearly R.Kelly is the HANDS DOWN WINNER lmao

JesusIsMySavior's picture

Okay I'm glad it's a good snap. LOL I'm about to make a best of babyface cd. Yeah Kelly can't top that. LOL@F outta here

Tricia AKA @GimmeUnusual's picture

LOL...no it was a good snap!!! The comparison was the snap (LOL). Yes, Babyface is romantic..."I give good love. I'll buy your clothes. I'll cook your dinner too. Soon as I get home from work. I'll pay your rent. Your faithful lover. Soon as I get home from work." R-Kelly can't top that...He talking about, "You Remind me of my Jeep". "F outta here" like Trey always says. NO COMPARISON HUN...BABYFACE HAANNNNDDDS DOWN!!! LOL

JesusIsMySavior's picture

LOL Lord I hope I didn't seem like I snapped. :) If I did sorry about that. LOL

I'm with you Babyface is the best hands down. He has beautiful songs that he created for himself and for others. Babyface's songs are so romantic.

Tricia AKA @GimmeUnusual's picture

Ohhhh @JesusIsMySavior - YOU SNAPPED!!! Whew...now I am a born again & then again Babyface lover! LO-O-O-O-VVVVVEEE me some Babyface. Whip Appeal has always & will always be my favorite song of his. For me - Babyface is the winner (SOLE REASON - I just like his music more.) I'm not about to get into who writes & produces more, who got the most hits, who made the most money, who been out longer...NONE OF THAT...they both write for themselves & others and they both are great...BUT BABYFACE...whew LORD...his music just does something to me. Babyface wins against EVERYBODY, and I mean EVVERRRRYBODY!!! LMAO

JesusIsMySavior's picture

@Sshorty

I’m well aware of how far R. Kelly’s talents go. I know he produces his own music as well as for others. R. Kelly is a Capricorn like me and we are about our money so with that said he isn’t trying to have too many hands in the pot. The brother wants all that money coming to him. :)

All his music isn’t a 100% crossover though.

For the most part any urban artists that came out before 2000 really benefited from high record sales. So you know R. Kelly raked in the cash and continues to rake in the cash.

The winner is whomever you want it to be. Since you are taking it back like this, who would you pick between R.Kelly & Babyface?

SShorty's picture

@JIMS

It's not only that Kellz writes "his whole entire songs" but he also produces his songs

Not to mention write and produce for other artists of different genres

Also R Kelly is a 100% crossover artist that still manages to remain RnB

Ohh not to mention the millions of album sales and number one records not only in the
U.S. but in U.K as well...

These facts give R. Kelly the edge...and that's why

Kellz is the HANDS DOWN WINNER in this comparison thread

JesusIsMySavior's picture

You are right they both relate to women well. But there are times when you hear a song by R. Kelly and you think it's a woman that wrote those words.

JesusIsMySavior's picture

@Trica

What give R. Kelly the edge is for the most part he writes his whole entire songs. With many of Trey's songs it a collaborative effort.

You are right there will be someone out there dissing him for something he does musically. LOL And 20 years from now we will be going back and forth with that artists fans saying "don't you dear disrespect the legend trey songz" :)

Tricia AKA @GimmeUnusual's picture

@JesusIsMySavior - I think they both relate to women really well in their music. They remind me so much of each other - they're both musical geniuses - R-Kelly just has been out longer. While R-Kelly writes hits for others, Trey writes hits for himself. LMAO 20 years from now some dude gone be dissing Trey & Trey gone be like, "Nigga...you still got on diapers. Put 20 years in like I did, then talk." LMAO

JesusIsMySavior's picture

I will definitely say that he seems to be able to relate to women well. He has a great ability to speak for women musically.

JesusIsMySavior's picture

@Tricia

Yes gotta love him because there is far too many weak minded men. There are times when I question whether Trey is really 25 because he is very mature in thought.

Don't get me wrong I do own some of his music. I think I stopped buying his music after Chocolate Factory. I love Honey Love, Slow Dance, Bump & Grind(Remix), and number of the other songs you mentioned. Oh and I love the I Can't Sleep Baby (Remix). But it was something about him that never sat right with me. He is a gifted man though.

Yes make that Best of Kellz CD. LOL

Tricia AKA @GimmeUnusual's picture

@JesusIsMySavior - You are absolutely right - that is what I LOVVVVE about him too!!! He does HIM no matter what and I love that. I love a man with a strong mind & at such a young age that is rare.

I cannot believe you are not an R-Kelly fan. LOL It's so many of his songs I have loved. His newest stuff ain't that bad to me, but it ain't as good as his older stuff (Echo, Text Me & Number One grew on me), but they weren't hits to me like "12 Play", "Bump & Grind", "Step In My Room", "My Body's Calling", "Down Low", "Ignition", "Trapped in the Closet (parts 1 - 1000). I loved "I'm a Flirt" & even "Same Girl (w/ Usher)" - he has another version of Same Girl w/ T-Pain that I love better than the Usher version but it's really raunchy. I used to play the 12-Play album religiously. You got me reminiscing - time to go make a "Best of R-Kelly" CD. LOL
