Noel smiled looking around her new apartment in Manhattan. After the article about her personal encounters with Trey was released, it sold out quickly, earning her the raise and promotions she felt she always deserved.
Yet, Noel wasn’t satisfied at all.
She missed Trey more than she thought she would. She had fallen in love with him, but it was to late. He knew about the article, their relationship was over.
Noel had tried contacting Trey so that she could pick up the rest of her things from his place, but he had changed his number.
That day Noel decided it was time to face the music. She decided to show up and Trey’s place unannounced.
Trey sat under the dim lighting in his photo developing room. There he was, feeling uninspired again.
“Fuck.” he whispered to himself.
Trey missed Noel, but damn if he was gonna taker her back. She had lied and put his personal business out to he public. He was through with her.
Trey snapped out of his deep thought has his doorbell rand repeatedly.
“I’m coming! Hold up…"
Trey ran to his door throwing on a t-shirt over his grey sweatpants.
Trey felt himself getting angry again. “Fuck you here for? You want more info from me or something?”
“No Trey. I just want to pick up the rest of my things.”
“You ever think about calling me first?”
“How can I when you changed your number?”
“I don’t want you here.”
“Fine. Let me get my things and I’ll be out of your way.”
As mad as Trey was he couldn’t ignore how beautiful Noel looked.
“Deal. Make it quick. I got shit to do.”
Noel walked into Trey's apartment and wasted no time searching for her things. Trey watched her with intense eyes.
“So…you get your raise?” Trey asked with a hint of sarcasm.
“Yea. I did actually. Promotion too.”
Trey clapped his hands loudly. “Glad my personal life made you some money.”
“Trey. It wasn’t like that.”
“Fuck you mean it wasn’t like that?!”
“I didn’t want to hurt you. I love you Trey I do. In getting to know who you really were I fell for you. But I needed this money. More than you know.”
‘What was so important that you would betray me like that Noel. Huh? What was it?”
Tears began to form in Noel’s eyes.
“Fuck you crying for Noel? Be real with me for ONCE. Tell me!”
“I needed the money…because my mom is dying…and I just needed this to take care of her okay! Happy now?”
Trey rubbed his temples. ‘Why didn’t you just tell me that Noel?! I love you I would have helped…if you had just been honest with me…”
“I tried. I tried telling you Trey. But I couldn’t. I didn’t want to have to depend on you. I wanted to help my mother on my own.”
“Depend on me? Noel I was your man and if you ask I’ll provide, that’s a man’s job.”
“I’m so sorry Trey. I really am. I hate that I had to hurt you to get what I needed…”
“I’m sorry too.”
Trey…I know that I lost your trust…and if there’s anything I regret…I regret losing that.”
“I love you Noel. Despite everything, even if I try to hate you. I can’t. You mean the world to me. But…I don’t even know how you can come back from something like this.”
“I understand. I guess I should just leave you alone then.”
Noel started for the door, but Trey stopped her.
Noel stared into Trey’s longing eyes.
“You sure about that?”
“No. But I know I don’t want you to leave just yet.”
Trey pulled Noel into a deep kiss. The kiss felt so right, Trey felt content once again with Noel in his arms.
“I love you Noel.”
“I love you too.”
“My heart is fighting with my head right now. My mind says to let you go, you lied to me. But…my heart…shit my whole being tells me that I can’t let you go.”
‘I don’t deserve you Trey. I don’t.”
“I know you don’t. But for right now, I need you body here with me. Can you handle that?”
Trey took Noel’s hand and lead her into his bedroom.
Although Noel had did him wrong,Trey didn’t want to be alone. Not tonight.
