    This Pissed Me Off!!!

There is a lawsuit that was filed on 2-02-2011 against Trey and others because
    Milton James aka “Tony Scales”

Name was not listed as one of the producers to the music of the track that was allegedly recorded in his basement…
Because Trey and Atlantic records supposedly ignored the “cease-and-desist” letters, not only are they suing Trey, but they are suing Atlantic, as well as Kodak (for using the music on a commercial) for something like $18 million dollars….

As I said, this pissed me off…I feel as though this is just a “get rich quick” type of thing… I cannot stand when people do that…

Not trying to throw any shade, but how come NICKI MINAJ was not mentioned on this claim as well? #JustSaying

I pray the TREY gets out of this… the money that he makes from his fans and all other work he does, is NOT for some people that want to “get rich quick”. Work for what you want…just like Trey does.

I have a feeling they will not get over on him… I hope they don’t…
&& for the future, I hope he is smarter with the people he decides to make business choices with..

    You CANT trust everybody….

Yes it is more to this story. But God will reveal that in due time. I’m not saying Trey can’t be shady but when it comes to his livelihood he seems to try his best to due the correct thing. He comes across as person that will go to the proper people to make sure he can utilize a person’s beat. I don’t think his name is Mr. Steal Your Beat. I think he is very professional when it comes to his music and isn’t down with the foolishness. Bottoms Up isn’t even one of my favorite songs so you are right why would he need to steal that beat. And I seriously doubt they really tried to send a cease and desist letter. My thing is you are based in D.C. you are a hop skip and a jump from V.A. you could have easily served Trey with that document.

i just cant picture Trey needing to steal music...
so there is definitely MORE to this

I will agree I think the people that are suing are trying to put Trey in a negative light. I still think the real issue is with the guy that produced the beat in the first place. Perhaps Trey needs to stick with producers he knows very well. This is not to say he doesn’t know Kane well.

Karen523

From the article I read that is what it seems to have happened. You have Mr. James that created the beat at this person home studio. He than shops the beat around and then Kane takes it and shows it to Trey. How do we really know if Kane or Trey or Atlantic really knew that this song had another producer.

HIs-LastTime's picture

@JIMS... thats where im coming from... He better come with some proof...
AND if this is true, as I said before there is MORE to the story, and it was
most likely NOT intentional... LIKE REALLY, does TREY need to steal MUSIC
to a song????? with all the money he and his camp make AND all the music
I'm sure he came across... did he need that particular beat to make that song
a hit???? NOOOOOOOOO

that song could have been on any other beat and still been a hit...
This is something personal, and since KODAK is now involved... i know
its about the MONEY and the fact that they want to throw SALT on TREY's
GAME...

but as its known, MORE money MORE problems, but TREY will prevail!!!!

Yeah it pissed me off too. This seems like some bull. Key word allegedly. How we really know that song was really recorded in his studio. So some random dude sends a cease and desist letter how do you really know he is the true producer of the track. I was wondering why Nicki wasn’t included either. If this is even true Trey may have to use better judgment when working with people.

From the article I read, I was thinking if another producer brought to song to him, he may not have known he worked on the song with someone else. The thing is everyone is going to make an assumption but we may never know what's going on.

HIs-LastTime's picture

@Karen, EXACTLY!!!

HIs-LastTime's picture

Oh, if you notice... by them attacking Kodak as well, they are clearly trying to make him look bad in there eyes... This is definitely going to cause strain in with his endorsements and everything... They are clearly attacking Trey and his camp

HIs-LastTime's picture

I NEVER stated that Trey's Team didnt do anything wrong, hunni,

but sueing for 18 Million dollars because your name is not listed is a tad bit much dont you agree?

&& to get Kodak involved over a song that they had nothing to do with creating, is showing GREED in my eyes...

I dont think that this is something to just forget about, but at the same time, these people need to be rational...

I'm tired of people trying to make him look bad... Of all the music that Trey makes, I doubt he was thinking "oh let me steal this music to make ONE song". In my opinion, there was a lack of communication or this is something personal these men have against TREY

Karen523's picture

Oh wow.....I kinda agree with you both but we don't all the details over what's going on but 18 million is a whole lot of money. Why are they sueing now? Why not sue when the cd or song was originally released?

msamaris@hotmail.com's picture

@HIs-LastTime i agree with what you are saying and also agree with COOGIdown is saying. But I feel that the people who are doing the suing may not be telling the full truth 18 million dollars is a lot of money. I am praying for Trey and that things will come out in his favor and that he will be more careful with the people he deal with. I don't think that this is going to hold up in court i got my reason for saying this....

Ariel @COOGIdown's picture

so..... you dont think that Trey's team had any wrong-doing? They're getting sued for a reason, hunny.
I really wish Trey's team the BEST on this issue. Thats alot of money to be fuckin around with.
