Soon after I introduced my friends to Trey, we were all called to the main dining room for dinner. Seating was informal so everyone just grabbed a seat. I ended up sitting across from Trey, and in between Lovey and Chantal. Coco sat on one side of Trey, and Tiffany almost knocked over Lovey's mother to sit on his other side. Auntie Eva made a strangling motion behind the girl's back. I covered my mouth and laughed.
Everyone was having a great time. Tiffany flirted with every man within her vicinity. CoCo made jokes as usual. There was a lot of loud laughter and talk about sports, politics and business. Dinner was delicious and dessert was scrumptious.
After dinner, Daddy invited everyone up to the third floor where he likes to relax after dinner. Daddy often refers to that part of the house as his Game Room, and rightfully so, since he has every form of entertainment you can think of up there.
He has one part sectioned off for bowling, another part sectioned off as the bar area, where there is a billiards table, jukebox, fully stocked bar, complete with a counter, and bar stools. He has a high definition 64" flat screen TV, he uses to watch sports on and play video games on.
He has one part sectioned off as a mini internet cafe, complete with a kitchenette, and two small desks set up with flat screen computers, two small dinette sets, and there's also a lounge area where there are sofas and easy chairs, a coffee table and end tables. That's usually the area where we would get together to play board games and cards.
There was a bartender and servers up there as well.
I watched Trey play video games with the other guys while the parents sat in the lounge area.
I played a boxing game with Trey. As usual, he let me win the first round, the next round, he annihilated me. My bodyguards didn't take kindly to that so they stepped up to defend my honor. Trey put up a good fight. He beat Charles twice. Kenny decided to take on Eric. We all a lot of fun.

Ma smirked, but she tried to look serious as she said that she thought that we were all adults, so what was all the fuss about.
Lovey's mother agreed and she told us that sex wasn't something new that our generation had just made up.
"Hmph. Ask 'Mr. Steal Yo Girl' who invented sex." Lovey teased, as she nodded in Trey's direction.
"So you're the one they call the 'Panty Droppa', huh?" Uncle Ray said. He laughed and gave Trey a pat on the back.
"He can drop mine anytime." A voice behind us said. Everyone turned around to stare at my sixteen year old little cousin, Tiffany.
"Little girl..." I went over to her and pretended to give her a spanking.
"She needs the real thing. Hand me your belt, Daddy." Lovey said.
"Stop!" Tiffany protested. "Y'all talking dirty, why can't I?" She asked.
"For the same reason you'd better stop sipping from those wine glasses. You're too young!" My mother told her.
"Oh, please Auntie Myrna. I'm not a child. And I'm not a vir-"
I spun her around before she could finish her sentence.
"Well, maybe you're not a - child - but you definitely have to be this tall-" I measured my height then I pointed at Trey,
"To ride him, so keep your fast ass in the kiddie corner ok?" I smiled to take the sting out of my words.
CoCo snuck up behind Tiffany and gave her a hard pat on her behind. Tiffany yelled out.
"That's for giving Evan that dirty look when we first got here."
Tiffany ran off wailing to Daddy, who immediately began to baby her. Daddy always had a soft spot for his youngest sister's child. She got away with murder whenever she came to visit.
All of a sudden the room was filled with the sound of Trey's voice. His song 'Famous' came on. I smiled at Trey, and he smiled broadly as everyone coupled up and began to dance to his song. Since Daddy was dancing with Tiffany, Ma grabbed Kenny and began to dance with him.
I saw my friend, Chantal and her new husband, Carl enter the room. I waved for her to come over to Trey and me.

Trey, myself and our bodyguards, walked into the living room and were immediately offered something to drink. My mother had hired a full wait staff and they were milling around the room offering drinks and appetizers to everyone. My parents came over and gave me hugs and kisses, and they shook hands with the guys. Daddy told us that he was glad that we'd come, and he told us to relax and have a good time. Music was playing and CoCo and her husband Evan were in the middle of the floor dancing. My god sister, Lovey, and her boyfriend, Ronny were also dancing. Lovey's parents, Roy and Eva Clark, and one of my father's best friends, Raymond Trent were watching them.
I took Trey's hand and walked him over to be introduced. They all greeted Trey with enthusiasm. CoCo waved her hand at Trey when she looked over at us. She pretended to be put off by the attention.
"Y'all act like she came in here with Usher or somebody." She rolled her eyes. A second later she was dancing her way over to us and she pulled Trey away from me. She smiled up at him as she rolled her hips.
"Just kidding. Now grind on me like you do on stage at your shows." She backed into Trey who looked as if he wanted to rise to the occasion.
"Don't make me take Evan upstairs and dry hump him on your old bed." I told her.
Evan shrugged and put his arm around my shoulder.
"Fair exchange..." He said.
"Just take him out on the terrace, Essence. You know that's more your style." She winked at me.
CoCo is never going to let me live that down. She teases me about it every chance she gets.
My mother walked over to us and she asked what we were talking about.
"Essence wants to take Trey out to the terrace and do you know what." CoCo told her.
My mother leaned over to me and said that a good spot was on the third floor terrace overlooking the water.
"Especially when the moon is out. It's breath taking."
"Ma!" I couldn't believe it. CoCo covered her ears and ran to the other side of the room.

Ma asked me so many questions about Trey that I had to stop her.
"Wait, have you not met him already, because he's coming with me tomorrow, and I can introduce you to him." I told her.
She told me that she was asking me so many questions because she wanted to make sure he would feel comfortable.
"Ma, you've never done a thing to make him feel uncomfortable. He likes you." I told her.
"I like him too, Sweety. I really want him to enjoy himself." Ma said.
I told her that I was sure that Trey would enjoy himself.
"Okay, so what about you, hun? Do you expect to enjoy yourself?" I heard the wistfulness in her voice.
I told her that I always enjoyed myself whenever I went back home. She told me that she wished I would come home more often. She told me that she was afraid that I would end up getting married and then I'd probably move to another state and have kids, and then she'd probably never see me or her grandbabies.
"Ma, that's never going to happen. I would never move away and not come home to visit. I really do wish that I could see you and Daddy more often. Look, I promise to come by more often, ok?"
She told me that I didn't have to make her any promises. She just needed to hear from me at least once a week. I told her that I would call her at least once a week, and I'd visit at least once a month. At least this time our conversation ended on a good note. I knew that we wouldn't be having that conversation at the dinner table.
When we got to my parent's house there were two men standing outside, ready to park our cars in the private garage on the other side of the house. We were greeted at the front door by our old housekeeper, Millie, who hugged me as if I were her long lost daughter. She exclaimed how happy she was to see me and I smiled and told her the same. Millie had been with the family since CoCo and I were toddlers. She was definitely a welcomed sight to see. She told me that everyone else was already there in the front livingroom.

So sorry to disappoint everyone, but I have to put the story on hold for a little while. An urgent family situation has come up, and I'm not going have access to a computer. I should be back by next week. I'll post some more entries as soon as I can.
Thanks again for the comments. My Angel Sisters are the best, and I mean it.
Oh, and as for all of Trey's shows and events, whoever is lucky enough to get close to him, give him a big hug and kiss for me, please! :)

Entry 12
Having bodyguards around me all of the time really isn't so bad. I had to lay down a few rules for them to follow, though.
I told them that they didn't have to call me 'Ms. DuRay'.
"Call me Essence - just Essence. No need to be all formal."
I told them that they didn't have to wear suits all of the time.
"Only if the occassion calls for it. I'll let you guys know in advance."
We established signals so that they wouldn't have to approach everyone I spoke to.
"I don't want my friends and neighbors to feel as if they're about to get the third degree."
The last rule was the most important one.
"Trey and I are to have total privacy at all times. His guards respect the boundaries he has set up, so you guys can take cues from them."
They're really easy going guys, and easy on the eyes. Charles is tall, light skinned with hazel eyes. I don't know what Daddy was trying to pull, but I'm definitely not going to complain about that. Anyway, Trey has them both beat by a landslide in my book.
I checked the blogs again, and sure enough, Nosey Ms. Rosey has several pics of the guys and me. This time we're coming out of the nail salon. The caption read,
'Do these two hunks like mani/pedis too?'
I showed them the blog and suggested that they keep tabs on it. They assured me that they would keep a close watch on our surroundings at all times.
Last night at my parents' Townhouse on the Upper East Side went better than I thought it would go. As was suggested by Daddy, I called my mother.
She was eager to dicuss the seating arrangements for the family and the bodyguards. My mother loves to play hostess, and if you're welcomed into her home, you'll be given the best treatment ever.
Ma took care to ask if any of the guards would be needing a special diet due to health issues. She asked if I thought they'd prefer to sit and eat with the family, or would they rather have the kitchen area where they'd be able to help themselves to whatever they wanted.
She also asked about Trey.

No one at work made a big deal about the two guys I'd brought in with me. It was almost like work as usual, except I had these two guys there watching my every move. My boss poked his head into my office more times than usual, so finally I went to see him in his office. I didn't have to explain who Eric and Charles were. He already knew, and he is totally cool with the situation. He said that my father had called him and told him all about it. I told him that I wouldn't let them interfere with my work. He offered to let me take some time off, but I declined. I told him that in about a week or so, I wouldn't even need bodyguards anymore. Even as I told him that, a little voice inside of me said, 'Yeah, right.'
The truth is, I won't feel completely comfortable until I find out who's behind all the weird stuff that's been going on.
At around noon, Nina, my assistant, came into my office to tell me that there was this gorgeous man waiting up front to see me. I started to tell her to send him in, but Charles stopped me.
"Are you expecting someone this afternoon, Ms. DuRay?" He asked.
When I told him no, immediately, Eric left the office and made bold strides to the front.
Nina's eyes widened and just as she was telling me that my visitor was Trey, I heard my baby telling Eric to chill out. Kenny was standing boldly at his side.
I rushed to the front and explained to Trey what was going on. Trey wrapped a protective arm around me and extended the other one to the bodyguards.
"Oh, no problem, homies, but y'all don't have to protect her from me." All of the men shook hands cordially. Trey told me he was there to take me out for lunch. Trey and I rode in his truck, while Eric and Charles followed close behind in the car.
Since the weather was really warm, we had lunch at an outside cafe. We tried to pretend that we didn't have three pairs of eyes on us. I wasn't used to it and I asked Trey how he could deal with it. He told me to set up boundaries at once.

"If that's really what you think of me, Essence, then I'm really hurt."
I told my father that I didn't mean to offend him but he has to start taking my career seriously.
"I feel offended every time I mention my work to you, and you laugh it off."
Daddy told me that he is proud of my accomplishments but he thinks that with my abilities, I should be running the whole company or one of my own.
"Like CoCo. Daddy, I make more after taxes than she does."
"Yes, but she has a husband who more than makes up the difference for her." Daddy thought that he had proven his point.
"Daddy, I told you that Trey and I will get married when the time is right. I can't believe you're bringing up this subject again, Gosh!."
"Far be it! I'm in no mood this morning to have a discussion about the singer." Daddy said.
"See? That's another thing, Daddy. "The Singer', as you like to call him, makes me very happy. Immensely happy, in fact. One day he's going to be your son-in-law, and we're going to have a house full of little singers that you're going to want to spoil, so you're going to have to get used to him! And his name is Tremaine, or Trey, if you'd prefer. No more 'the singer'. You got that, Daddy?" I had to tell him exactly how I felt. I saw Eric and Charles exchange looks between them. We were pulling up to a McDonald's drive thru.
"Well, I guess I've been told off! Well, no one can dispute that you're just like me. Alright, I'll respect your choices from now on. Enjoy your breakfast, dear." Then, he hung up on me.
"How did he know that I was having breakfast?" I wondered out loud.
"He's parked right across the street, Ms. DuRay." Charles pointed out to me.
After we'd gotten our food, Charles pulled the car up alongside Daddy's. He rolled down his window, and I did the same.
"I'm expecting you on Thursday. Don't be late, and give your mother a call, ok?"
I agreed to do just that. When I got to work, I let Eric and Charles sit in my office. They watched me closely.
