Trey and I are on our way to Miami, flying first class and I'm feeling good. We're going to be there for about a week. Trey said that he's going to need these few days of rest and relaxation because when we get back, he's going to do a mini promo tour for his album. He's excited about it and so am I. I want Trey to be able to take his mind off of all the stuff that's been happening, and Trey loves to work. He's the most driven person I know.
As for my career, I'm feeling a little down about it. I still love my job, but I feel like I let the firm down. All of my dirty laundry is being aired out in public on a daily basis, and I just know that my boss is waiting to see what's going to happen next to embarrass the company. When I told him that I'd be taking a few vacation days, he seemed relieved and apprehensive at the same time. He gave me a speech about how the firm isn't only my job, it's my family. He told me to call him anytime if I ever got into trouble like I did before.
"I've known your family for a long time, Essence, and I'm here for you, always." He'd said.
In my heart I believe him. Dan has always been a good guy. But I can't help the part of me that feels that what he was really telling me was that if any more weird shit happens to me, he wants to be abreast of the situation from the start. I can't blame him if that really is the case. Dan would definitely want to run spin control for the firm before the media hounds stuck their fangs in.
I'm going to take this time to just relax and enjoy being with Trey. I really wanted it to be just us on this trip, but that's not happening. Trey's bodyguards are coming, mine are, and Daddy even hired that female guard. I'm going to meet her in Miami. I'm imagining her to look like those female prison guards you see in those B movies - big, busty and tough with a thick Hispanic accent - I don't know why, lol.
I don't care what she looks like, I just hope she's cool, and can be trusted around Trey.

I can't believe how far some people will go just to prove a point. Trey doesn't have a beef with the guy. He just stated his opinion. Anyone who can read can see that, but gossip is better than the truth to most, so now Trey has to live this down.
Like I said before, Trey is the best. He's taking the whole thing in stride and he's not backing down from his opinion. He's continuing to be true to himself, too. He dropped his first single from the new album today, and it's been blowing up on the airways. The Angels are asking for a video, ASAP and Lil Wayne, Fab, and Luda have already hit him up for the remix.
I did manage to ask him if we could go away together. He promised me that we will. He's talking about taking me to Miami. I was hoping for someplace a little further away, but I won't complain, at least we're going. I'm going to book our flight later on.
In the meantime, there's still that issue about what went on in Chicago. The police out there are still looking for anyone who will corroborate the story I told them. As for the way things are over here, Jasmine has been staying out of sight. I hope to never see her again.
Several times I've wanted to go to Nosey Ms. Rosey's blog, just to see what she's been putting out there, but is it even worth it? All I'm going to see is negativity. Nah, I'm just going to leave it alone.
I went to work yesterday and I felt as if I didn't belong there. My co-workers were cool as usual, but so much has happened to me that it's hard to concentrate on work when I feel as if everyone is whispering behind my back. At one time I was walking past the break room and I heard the radio. Some radio DJs were weighing in on the situation with Trey, and my name came up. I crept up to the doorway of the break room and saw three of my staff sitting around the radio as if it were a campfire. They were so engrossed, they didn't even see me standing there. I walked away before they could notice me.
The world keeps spinning.

Trey's Angels, as he now calls them, retweeted his message on Twitter, and his Facebook page is still receiving comments about the tweet.
Comedians have started to make jokes and parody's about Trey as a gangsta rapper. The jokes are tastefully done, and purely made for fun, so there are no hard feelings on Trey's behalf.
The Angels are promoting Trey's good image and arguing against those who want to see Trey change for the worse. They've started trending topics on Twitter, and discussion topics on his website. Trey is so appreciative of his Angel's support that he's been going live everyday just to show them that he's still their beloved prince and he won't be changing his image.
I'm impressed by the Angels as well. They really pull together when it comes to Trey. They're the ones who make his career worth it.
On the flip side of things, there are just as many people out there who want to see Trey's dark side. There are video posts out of him fighting in clubs, yelling back at hecklers at some of his shows, being rude to photographers. They even blew an innocent conversation he had with a blog reporter out of proportion.
Trey was doing an interview with a well known celebrity blog site. The interviewer and Trey had done stories together before, and Trey felt comfortable enough to talk freely. It just so happened that Trey mentioned something he didn't like about a certain other R&B singer's decision to take his sound in a different direction. Trey told the interviewer that the singer is someone who has influenced Trey's career in a major way, and that he's that singer's biggest fan.
"I just think that he should be setting the trends instead of following them. He's the King of R&B."
The story went out, and everyone had something to say about it. They accused Trey of starting a huge beef with the well known singer to gain credibility. Others want to know who the hell Trey thinks he is for trying to knock the other singer's creativity.

The last few days have been crazy! There have been nonstop calls from reporters and gossip personalities and radio hosts, all eager to find out what happened to Trey when he was brought into the precinct.
Trey's popularity is even more than it was before since his fans have been calling him The Bad Boy of R&B. On the blogs, some people are telling their versions of what happened as if they were there. They all make Trey out to be some undercover thug who has no respect for the law. One blogger said that Trey was the one who pushed the cop against the gate, and fought off two other cops who came to the first cop's aid.
Another blogger said that Trey had gotten his hands on one cop's nightstick and threatened to beat the hell out of anyone who tried to arrest him.
Another story told was that Trey, Kenny, and their friends had rushed the first police vehicle that arrived on the scene, and Trey ended up fighting with the back up police that were called to the scene by the frightened cops in their car.
I can't stop laughing at those crazy stories, but somehow, the more ridiculous the story, the more Trey looks like the Dark Knight of the R&B world. His fans are loving this 'new side' to Trey and because of some of the lyrics in some of the songs on his mixtape, there are even rumors that Trey is about to drop his sexy R&B persona and turn into a full time gangsta rapper. Imagine that! LMAO!
Trey has been reading the blogs too and he laughed at some, but a few are making him think that his fans have lost their minds. He can't believe that some of them would rather see him fighting cops and going to jail and ditching the clean image he's shown from the start.
I'll admit, Trey's sexiness wouldn't diminish one bit if he became a thug. On the other hand, though, I don't want my baby doing stupid things to get himself arrested just to maintain the image of a hoodlum. He's so much better than that. Luckily, he feels the same way. He sent his fans a tweet about it.

After we left the precinct, my parents went home. Everybody else followed me and Trey home. We hung out at his place for a few hours. Since the tension had worn off when we were all sent home, we were able to joke about the occurrences we'd had.
I recounted what Jasmine had said and done at the precinct. Trey's cousin joked that Jasmine was going to get Trey and me like in the movie Fatal Attraction. We all laughed, but I kind of feel that Jasmine would try, crazy bitch that she is.
We ordered pizzas, buffalo wings and french fries. I made mixed drinks. The day hadn't turned out to be so bad after all. After everyone was sufficiently stuffed and a little tipsy, Trey and I kicked everybody out Martin and Gina style. We made them drag out the leftovers and empty pizza boxes, bottles and food cartons.
Trey and I showered, dimmed the lights, and put on some old school slow jams. I gave Trey a massage while Marvin Gaye's vocals drifted through the apartment. Trey rubbed me down while he sang Jodeci. Things were pretty heated when his phone rang. It was his mother.
He continued to stroke me as he spoke with her.
I could hear her ask him if there would be charges pending against him. He told her that Ma had made the Captain drop the charges.
I heard her ask in a surprised tone how she had done it. He gave me the phone.
I was nervous at first when I took the phone. Trey's mom is nice, but I thought she was going to blame me for Trey getting in trouble with the cops. If she was mad at me, she didn't mention it. She even asked me if I was alright. I told her that I was, and I apologized to her. She didn't want me to apologize. I was relieved. I explained to her that the police captain is Ma's ex.
"Well, that helps!" She said and we laughed.
I gave Trey the phone and he spoke to his mom for a while then he ended the call. More calls came in and our quiet time was over. Everyone expressed concern and love for Trey. I'm so glad he's safe at home where he belongs.

After a few more minutes of small talk, the Captain pardoned Trey's friend, and we thanked him.
"Thank you so much, Frank." Ma said.
"No problem, Eva." The Captain told her.
He shook hands with Daddy again.
"Stop by the deli anytime. Marie would love to see you." The Captain told them.
Daddy told him that they would. He put his arm around Ma as we left the precinct.
"Is their deli still over on seventh?" I heard him ask her.
She winked at me as she answered him. "Yes, it's still there."
As soon as we stepped outside of the precinct, it was like another world. Cameras were in our faces, reporters were asking questions, fans were screaming, and policemen were bellowing orders for everyone to stand back. News helicopters hovered overhead. It was a media circus out there.
Most of the reporters shouted questions to Trey and me. We held onto each other firmly, and answered questions at random.
Our lawyers told us not to answer any questions concerning arrests or the case that was still pending in Chicago.
Daddy and Ma were asked a few questions. Daddy gave out a few comments, but then, with Eric's assistance, he walked Ma over to their car. Tiffany got in with her.
"Please direct all of your questions to our publicist." He said before he got into the car.
I heard Nicole telling the media that no arrests had been made. She told them that the incident that had happened earlier was due to a misunderstanding. She also told them that the case in Chicago was still under investigation.
I saw that CoCo and our friends, along with Trey's friends were standing near our cars and trucks. Charles was there with them, fending off the reporters that were trying to get to them.
Kenny moved the crowd so that Trey and I could get to his truck. Fans screamed as Trey smiled and waved. They called out well wishes to him.
I was surprised when some even called out to me. I waved and smiled too.
Policemen swarmed around to get rid of the crowd. We got in the truck and left.

I held on to Trey for dear life. I was so afraid for what could happen to him, but he was holding up very well. He kept telling me that nothing that was happening to him was my fault. He told me that the lawyer said he was going to walk. That made me happy, but he said that the police were dragging their feet on releasing him.
"And I got my man to think about too. They got him in another room. The lawyer is with him right now." Trey said.
Trey and I walked into the hall where everyone else was. Ma asked me if we were ready to go. I told her that I was going to stay with Trey, and he explained the situation.
"Oh, this is ridiculous." Ma shook her head and walked over to the front desk. She asked to speak to the Captain.
"Would you please tell him that Eva DuRay would like to speak with him?" She told the officer behind the desk.
A minute later she was escorted to the Captain's office.
Daddy walked over to me and Trey and said,
"This is why I've always said that your mother is the powerful one in this family." He had a pleased look on his face.
A few minuets passed and then the Captain's door opened. Ma walked out arm in arm with him.
They walked over to us and the Captain shook Daddy's hand. He gave the rest of us nods. Ma introduced all of us. The Captain shook Trey's and Lia's hands and he gave Tiffany a small pat on the shoulder. When he got to CoCo, he gave her a broad smile.
"I would know who you were a mile away. You're your mother's spitting image." He said.
He turned to me. "I used to bounce you on my knee, young lady. Now you're all grown up and as lovely as ever."
I couldn't help smiling back at him. He was so nice.
"What say I letcha all go, if you get your ma to invite me up to that fancy mansion for some of her gumbo?" He winked at me.
"Hey, not the gumbo." Daddy said before I could answer. He gave the Captain a certain look and he, Ma and the Captain all laughed. They made plans to invite the Captain and his wife to dinner.

@Aisha
Thank you for your concern. I'm alright now. My life is hectic as hell at times, but I get through it. I wish I was Essence in real life, then when things get tough, I could go to Trey and he'd make me feel better. :)

"You know good and well that before we left the hotel that you drugged Eric and me. I don't know how you did it, but you know you did it. You're so stupid because they're going to catch you." I said.
"Essence, I didn't drug you. We both took those pills you had in your room. You don't remember telling me that Eric had gotten them for you from his friend out there?" Jasmine looked as innocent as a five year old as she spoke.
Everyone in the room erupted. My parents demanded that she stop lying. I called her a lying bitch, Tiffany jumped up from her chair and CoCo had to hold her back. Jasmine played the role and looked terrified. The officer who had brought us into the room jumped in front of her and ordered us to all calm down. Lia told us all in a gentle voice to calm down. A minute later we were all seated again. Jasmine was crying openly and I was mad as hell.
I had underestimated just how crazy she is, and what's worse, I had fallen right into her trap, yet again.
"We've given you a chance to speak, but now, on behalf of my clients, I'm going to call an end to this. If you have anything else you want to say to my client, I suggest you have your lawyer contact me." Lia slid her contact card across the table to Jasmine. The officer picked it up and handed it to Jasmine.
He asked if any of us were going to proceed with pressing charges. We all said no. The officer told us that we were all free to leave.
"Let it be known that it would be in your best interest to stay away from my clients." Lia said to Jasmine as we all filed out of the room. The officer made Jasmine wait until my family and I had left the room first. I saw the two of them talking before the door closed behind me.
I told myself to forget about Jasmine. I still had Trey to worry about. I walked down the hall to the room CoCo showed me. The door was open and I saw Trey. I walked right over to him and hugged him. He hugged me back and I whispered how sorry I was to him. I kissed him.

Jasmine must think that I'm the stupidest chick in the world. She went on to say that she hadn't left me stranded that night. She said that I had walked away from her so that I could argue with some broad named Debbie. She said that once I started bragging to everyone in the club that Trey is my man, Debbie started saying that he was her man, too.
Jasmine also said that I had turned against her that night. She said that I went in on her about her feelings for Trey. She said that I cursed her out, and pulled her hair.
"I walked away from you so that you could calm down, but you were going off, girl. You and Debbie started fighting, then some guy grabbed you and put you in a car, and then you were gone. I was so scared, I didn't know what to do. I'm sorry Essence. I wish I could have helped you. I was sick for days worrying about you. I'm so glad you're ok. Despite what you think about me, I still care about you. I still see you as my friend." Jasmine even had the nerve to shed a few tears.
Well her performance fell flat on me because she knew full well that I knew that she was lying.
"When all of the commotion was going on that night, why didn't you call someone to help you two?" Lia asked.
"I would have, but I lost my phone that night. I could have dropped it when Essence went off on me." Jasmine replied.
"You say that you saw some guy grab Essence, put her in a car, and drive away with her, and you did nothing to stop him?" Lia leaned forward and looked Jasmine in the eye.
Jasmine didn't even blink as she gave her reply.
"To tell you the truth, we were so messed up that night. We had been drinking, and popping pills before we left the hotel, and a lot of what happened in between is a blur to me, so I didn't know where we were when the guy grabbed her. I didn't know anyone out there, and all of a sudden, I was left all alone."
She was playing the victim. She was sitting there, lying, and changing the whole story around. I told her she was lying.

I didn't see Trey and inwardly I was going crazy. Outwardly, I kept a straight face. I wasn't going to give Jasmine's crazy ass the satisfaction of seeing me break down. She hadn't won yet.
CoCo and Tiffany came out of another room, and CoCo walked with her arm wrapped protectively around Tiff's shoulders. She let go briefly to give me a hug. She pointed to a closed door and told me that Trey was in there. I stared at the door as if I had ex-ray vision.
"Tell him I love him, if you see him before I do." I told her.
CoCo nodded and we all walked to the room where Jasmine was. She was seated at a short, oval table. We all sat down. I sat as far away from her as I could. My parents chose to sit on both sides of Jasmine. I could see that both of them were masking their anger towards her. I imagined them both taking turns kicking her under the table.
The thought of it made me want to laugh, but I held it in. Only a small smile formed on my lips. Jasmine saw the smile and she smiled back at me. She actually seemed to relax a little too.
After we were all seated, Jasmine began to speak.
"I want you to know that I'm not going to press charges against you." Was her opening sentence.
"Nor, against you." Jasmine looked at Tiffany.
Tiffany and I exchanged looks, but we didn't speak. Jasmine continued.
"I believe that what happened earlier is the result of a big misunderstanding. I've seen the news reports about what happened in Chicago, and trust me, I would have felt the same way. I know you think that I did something terrible to you, Essence, but you're wrong. I would never hurt you like that."
"Are you kidding me Jasmine? You recorded what happened that night and put it on the internet!" I wanted to jump over the table and slap the shit out of her for lying. I threw daggers at her with my eyes.
Lia put her hand on my arm to calm me.
"Exactly what do you want to say to my client?" She asked Jasmine.
"I just want to let you know that I feel your pain."

Essence711's picture

Entry 36 cont'd
I just knew I would be going to jail. I was pretty sure that Jasmine wouldn't miss the opportunity to destroy my life even more than she already had, even if it meant that she would be going to jail too.
Even though I was facing this grim reality, I was still sick with worry for Trey. The charges I was facing were nothing compared to what they wanted to charge Trey with. I begged Ma to go and talk to his lawyer and find out what was being done to Trey. At that point, I didn't care about what could happen to me. If Trey wasn't going home, then neither was I.
Daddy came into the room and asked me how I was feeling. I told him that I was fine, but I needed to know that Trey was alright too. I told him that I felt responsible for Trey being there.
Daddy told me not to blame myself, but he understood my feelings. He told me that he'd make sure that Trey would be alright.
I was told to write down what had happened between Jasmine and me. I wrote down as much of the occurrence as I could remember. Detective Peck took my statement and put it in a file. He asked me if I wanted to press charges against Jasmine. I told him that I wanted to know what Jasmine was going to do. I felt knots form in my stomach. I guess I was just stalling. Of course I was going to press charges against Jasmine. I didn't know what was going on with the case in Chicago, but I knew she wasn't going to get away with this one.
Ma came back into the room. She told me that Trey was cooperating with the police, and that he didn't want me to be upset. I wanted to talk to him, but I was told that I couldn't. At that moment, an officer came into the room and told us that Jasmine wanted to speak with me.
I was skeptical, but curious as hell about what she had to say to me. Lia told me that I didn't have to talk to her, but I said that I wanted to. Maybe she'd say something to incriminate herself.
As we were being led towards the room Jasmine was in, I looked in every open doorway for Trey.
