This up coming school year I will be a high school junior. A lot of people have been telling I don't need to worry about college until I am a senior, but I feel I need to start thinking about it now. But I don't know where to start, and I need help from my angel sisters. If any of you angels have any advice, I would apperciate it if you give me some.

I am a high school senior and I suggest that you do the following:

* go on college tours with some schools in your area and/or go on college tours during August or Spring Break
* find the total costs of attendance for each school
* look up the FAFSA, CSS Profile, Common Application, scholarships that you can apply to now, etc.
* ask your teachers about personal statements
* get excellence grades, community service hours, work on your activities resume, etc.

That's all I can tell you right now because I am already in the middle of my process already.

For any angels that are currently attending college, can you comment on my discussion link: http://www.treysongz.com/talk/92766c-attn-all-college-angels/

Yes it is the time to start thinking about what school to might want to attend and what you want to major in. One of the major things for me was knowing what I wanted to do and what are the options for me to achieve them.

I've known since I was a sophomore in H.S. I wanted to join the navy and I did. I wanted to be a Nurse and I am. Im still progressing in my career. One of the hardest parts is finding out what you want to do. You can check us out at http://iangeladvocate.ning.com for Scholarship posting and if there is anything you want us to research or help you with send a message and the Angel Advocate team will be sure to reply. Good Luck honey!!! ^_^

Hey!

I am a college Sophomore now and you are defiantly right about needing to start your junior year. There are a lot of online resources that will help you and your school consolers will be there to help as well. It is defiantly a good idea to start looking at colleges and narrowing it down to about 7 top picks for where you wanna go. (most people say you should have 5 choices, but since you have time to eliminate some, start with 7). Of course the MOST important thing about your junior year are your grades. It will probably be one of your hardest years and it will be your last year to improve your G.P.A. before colleges see it. So focus on your grades and do the best you can! Also, if you haven't taken the ACT test yet, take it the next chance you get! Most colleges require it.

If you have anymore questions just ask. My name is Denise, and I currently attend the University of Missouri - Columbia and I love it. And it's funny b/c my junior year it wasn't even one of my choices, but i feel in love when i visited there. [which is another big thing, set up a few college visits junior year so you don't have to rush and do them all your senior year]

Like I said, ask me anything, I would love to help!
