I had been hanging with one of my little cousins, and one of her friends the other day. We had been walking home from the mall because they had wanted to go shopping, so I decided to do somethin nice for em...well we were walking, and I had been playing Cb's she ain't you on my ipod. Her friend looked up at me and asked me about the time that I had met him a couple of months ago. Then out of nowhere, she goes, "I wanna meet him, but he wouldn't like me". I asked her why she would say somethin like that and she said, "Him and Trey Songz only like the pretty girls. They would think i'm ugly". This girl is fourteen years old. She did come out and say that Trey seems to be a little nicer than Chris, but all in all, she thinks she'll get her feelings hurt if she goes to see one of them, and she's not even ugly!

I've been wanting to do something for girls with low self esteem for a while, and this just inspired me to do even faster. I want to put together a self esteem workshop of some sort called "Beautifully ME", for girls that don't feel pretty, that feel like their beneath others, just because of their looks. And I'd LOVE for one of these two that she named to come to speak. I think it's important for these girls to hear what they have to say, because I'm sure there's so many girls out there that I love these celebs, but feel the exact same way about the situation.

I'm from the dmv area, washington dc to be exact, so anyone from this area, i'd really love for you to be apart of this with me, but EVERYONE should definately join in if you don't mind. I have a lot of ideas in mind for this, because I've been thinking about this for a while. I've had low self esteem, I've grown up with things that I didn't like about myself my whole life, and one day, God finally picked me up and told me to stop it, and that I was beautiful. So I wanna make sure that these kids understand that too. Even if they don't see their beauty, someone else always does.

I agree with #SplendidAngel. I have some of those same issues and I think its a great idea that you have come up with. I don't live close to u, but if I can be of any help let me know! I think it would be great to have ppl on both the positive and negative side participate. My email is sewellsa@mail.Uc.edu or @mizzshay1024 on twitter.

That's a BEAUTIFUL idea Tiffan700! I'm so sorry your cousin feels that way. We all have our insecurities, at which happen to peek around that age range. Hey, these guys may like a certain type, but I can say first hand that Trey doesn't make his fans feel ugly, b/c what your fans look like have nothing to do with your looks. I wish you great success with your program. And I definitely think we all have a responsibility to help these young women do better & feel better, b/c the ball is being dropped somewhere.

Hey I'm always doing fundraisers for non profit companies that deal with the younger generation and counseling young girls and this is always an issue I'm seem to run into (professionally and personally). I would love to work with you and do something gigantic with your idea on the west coast. Since this is the place where most of the screwed up ideas of beauty come from (Hollywood), I think that this would a perfect place to start. I'm thinking maybe have some Q&A sessions with special guests, a few small lectures (for lack of a better word) maybe bring in a few male and female professionals to talk to the girls. Have like a whole week (or weekend) of events filled with positive outlooks on beauty. Maybe a day of Spa treatments and makeovers, a few parties, etc. I think you have a really good idea and young girls, even some young women have low self esteem and I feel like its our job as positive young women to help our peers and those who look up to us. And helping rise the self esteem of a beautiful woman is the perfect way to start up lifting our race.

Let me know what you think. Email me aishja.green@yahoo.com or you can tweet me @UniquelyAishja.

Peace Love && Blessings

Hey gurl. You're right, this really is a very touchy subject, and i'm really sorry you feel that way, but as said before, EVERYBODY is beautiful. Including YOU. I honestly believe this really would be something that is critically needed, and I wanna try to make this happen. Miss talking to you :)

Babygurlg, thank you so much for your support, and I definately will keep you updated on what's going on. Good luck with yours also, maybe we can end up working together in the future.

This is a very touchy subject. Self-esteem is a HUGE topic. I have self-esteem issues and I agree with what your little cousin is saying. So, a program like this would benefit not only them, but people just like me.

P.S. Right now I am in tears, but I am happy because I know there are kind hearted people who care about females with low self-esteem.
P.P.S. Heyy! I haven't heard from you in a minute!

Just keep it in pray.

I think that it is a wonderful idea. I have started a peer group called Angelz With Pride, for kids of all ages that deal with various issues. This program will help with self-esteem, abuse, bullying, and many other issues. I really wish that you will keep us updated with your progress and I will make sure to keep you updated with mine. I wish you much success and if there is anything that I can help you with, please let me know. Email: georgewun5@aol.com. Good luck!! BTW I think that you should get you a logo, if you don't already have one, and make sure to get it trademarked.

I kinda thought about that 4 a while...I wonder if this really could be my calling...I wish God would let me know...lol

Yes you haven't been here in a while.

No you don't normally see them with an "average" looking woman but it doesn't mean they don't like them. I think it's the lifestyle they are in that women that have looks that are more desirable are pushed in their circles. When it comes down to it we don't know what the women they will end up with will look like.

I understand it does become bothersome when you see the young girls affected by what they see. You have been pretty consistent with your interest in helping young people, perhaps this is what God is calling you to do.

Heyy lol yeah, I haven't been here in a while, I need to start coming back. But I so agree. You never see an average looking girl with them, and it makes regular girls go...well what's wrong with me? Usually I wouldn't care, but when young girls' feelings come into play...then I have a problem.

I love your Idea

Hey Miss! Glad you dropped by. :)

Wow a lot of young ladies these days have poor views of themselves. I believe the media plays a big role in why they feel that way. With the ladies that Chris and Trey have been linked up with I guess it would give a person the impression that they like a certain type of women.
