I felt Trey’s hand rest on my lower back as I strolled into the grocery store. Everywhere I went, Trey was there. I loved having him around me every second of the day, but when we were in public, it was strictly a bodyguard and client relationship. The LAST thing we needed what the wrong eyes to see us being romantic.
Trey wore a sexy game face as he walked 2 feet behind me as I grabbed what I needed from each aisle.
I was doing a little shopping for a romantic dinner I was making for him and I that night. Trey smirked as he watched me grab fresh strawberries. He knew what that meant.
I giggled and winked. Trey covered his mouth as he tried to hold back laughter. It was so fun being sneaky with him. It made things fun and exciting.
Once we made it back to the car, I slid into the backseat while Trey loaded the bags into the trunk. Once he got into the drivers seat he peaked at me through the rearview mirror.
“Yes Trey” I sang.
“I can’t wait to get you home with me.”
Without another word, trey started the car and drove us back to my place. I was more than excited to spend some alone time with him.
I rushed to my front door once we arrived, I wanted to waste no time.
But once I opened my door I saw someone I didn’t want to see.
My husband Cliff.
I heard Trey walk in behind me. My eyes shifted to the floor when I heard his breathing quicken.
“Oh Trey, nice to see you again man.” Cliff extended his hand to Trey.
Trey wore a fake smile as he shook Cliff’s hand firmly.
“Looks like you’ve been taking great care of my lovely wife.” Cliff wore a huge grin.
“Yes, that I have. It has been more than a pleasure to watch over Zora.” Trey’s dark eyes went to me. I bit my bottom lip.
“Zora, has Trey been good to you?” Cliff asked. ?
That instant, flashbacks of all the beyond nasty things I’ve done with Trey caused me to choke on my words.
“Umm…Yes! Yes, Trey has been wonderful. I feel very safe around him.”
“Good. I just wanted to pop in and make sure everything was alright with you Zora.”
“Well, as you see, I am doing quite well Cliff.”
“Alright. Well, I need to get going. I have to get back to the airport.”
“Thank God” I thought to myself.
Cliff gave me a hug and kiss before running out the front door. I watched him jump into his car and speed off down the street. I was more than happy that he was gone.
There was a long silence after he left. Trey just stood in the living room with the bags in his hand.
“Trey…hey! You okay?”
“Zora…honestly. How long you gonna keep this up?”
“What are you taking about?”
“Your husband, who you care cheating on with me, your bodyguard was just standing in the living room. What if I would’ve been kissing you when we walked in?”
“I don’t know.”
I could tell that Cliff popping up made Trey nervous. I wrapped my arms around him.
“ He’s gone Trey, you can relax now baby.”
I felt Trey’s body relax. I kissed him deeply.
“Now, let me go get dinner started.” I gave him a quick peck on the lips before I grabbed the bags from him.
I sensed that Trey wasn’t to convinced that everything would be okay, and neither was I. But dammit, I deserved to have my fun, right?
I mean, after all I've been through, I think i deserve a good guy, even if that meant being unfaithful.
As if Trey was reading me mind he spoke.
"What if Cliff was cheating on you? How would you feel Zora?"
"I know where you're going with this Trey."
"Answer me Zora. Seriously."
"Trey you never gave a shit about how Cliff would feel any other time? Why do you care now."
"I care because he can pop up whenever he wants. That gives us more chances to get caught."
"We won't get caught Trey."
"Says your husband, who still has a key and owns this house."
"Fine!" I yelled slamming down the potato I'd been cutting. "Fine Trey. It's over."
"You heard me."
"What Trey?! You're so scared we'll get caught, well lets end it right now."
"IT'S OVER TREY. You happy? You do your job and stop screwing me, and everything will be alright."
"You know you done mean that Zora."
"I don't, but it seems like that's where we're headed."
"Maybe, maybe not. Who knows."
'I don't have room to guess Trey."
'We have tonight." He moved closer to me. "You wanna end things? Im cool with that. But lets have to tnight. Our last time together. Deal?"
I shook Trey's hand and resumed cooking.
