    Homelessness: Live and Rising In U.S.

    Christmas season is traditionally known as the time for giving to the less fortunate or needy. What happens after the Christmas season ends? The less fortunate or needy is forgotten for 11 months. The fast-pace unstable economy has created a trickledown effect which in turn causes job loss and home foreclosure. Homelessness is alive and on the rise in the U.S. Just imagine one day being on the top of the world and the next day the bottom falls out you lose everything. After volunteering at the Salvation Army over the holidays, myself and a few others from there wanted to come together and do something more for those less fortunate. We are currently collecting items listed below to help the homeless in the Alexandria/Pineville area to show them that someone does care. We will be collecting items starting March 5-16, 2012 and will be delivering no later than March 21, 2012.
