    Hello Angels,

I need your help!  Psi Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. as well as myself are not only trying to raise money that would go towards research  to find the cure type 1 diabetes but, make AWARENESS in our community about diabetes. Here are some brief facts about diabetes:

Diabetes is a disease that causes blood sugar levels to be too high. Over time high blood sugar levels can hurt many parts of your body, such as your skin, mouth, kidneys, heart, nerves, eyes, and feet. It can even cause death

3.7 million, or 14.7 percent of all African Americans aged 20 years or older have diabetes

African Americans are 1.8 times more likely to have diabetes as non Hispanic whites.

25 percent of African Americans between the ages of 65 and 74 have diabetes.

1 in 4 African American women over 55 years of age has diabetes.

What will you do to create AWARENESS?

Check out my teams page and Donate!!! We need a cure

    -Thanks

Thank you angels for commenting on my post. We really need to bring this to the world attention. Diabetes has no limit to race, age, no gender.

It's ironic that you mentioned diabetes. Diabetes is like the disease that's right in front of your face, yet everyone ignores it. It's real & I know some ppl that paid ultimate consequences for not nipping it in the bud. [Ugh, who still says that? :)
