Trey Songz made a special visit to Detroit Public Schools to reward Arthur Logan Holmes Academy for winning the 50 Million Minute Challenge. Trey talked to them about the importance of staying in school, getting an education, and going after their dreams! [via HipHopDetroit.com]

i thought this was real cool. these kids got to hear a person they see on tv and hear on the radio everyday tell them about the importance of education, without forcing it on them. i think that was real powerful.

Aw, that was so sweet! Trey is so inspirational and loves his fans with a passion and obviously wants them to know that every chance he gets. Loved it Trey You told those kids how it is on the real You have a gift and what comes along wit that is when you talk people listen I bet if you had been anybody else those kids wouldn't of payed you know mind I remember being a kid and it takes a lot 2 get them 2 listen I love what your doing with your sucess and that your giveing back that's great and I love how you always say follow your dreams I bet years from now 1 of those kids is going 2 become a really important person and will someday thank you 4 changing there life I already feel like you have changed my life I'm not a kid but your words are powerful 2 me to Thank you Trey Love you Your Biggest Fan Ever !!!

The fact that he mentioned that he is a normal person although he IS a celeb is great! Many fans often forget that these celebrities that we admire are famous and well-liked, but all the while are human and like to do the very things that we do! Okay so I had to go and watch this on youtube because the video was acting crazy. Just wanted to say what you do is beautiful...not just you're music, but the way you inspire others and remind us that anything is possible. Reminded me of some things I need to stay steadfast at. I cannot overestimate the importance of such a positive message coming from a member of an industry in which so many youth are active. I hope you can continue to deliver such messages of influence to the young and growing community AND continue to be proof of your message in your music. The best part of your message, hands down, was that you are a regular person who achieved a level of success through hard work and mental focus.
