Love your poem. I feel your story. My younger sister is light skinned like you and constantly left out or singled out by the kids in school and in the neighborhood. It is heartbreaking to see her cry because she just want people to see her as she is inside not her skin color. I will share your video with her so she too can someday be liberated and live freely in her own skin. Thank you for sharing your poem. God Bless.

I feel like the story of my youth was just told by someone I've never met. I've since learned to embrace everything that makes me unique including my masculine name (SAM), light skin, light eyes, and so called "good hair". I definitely felt your PASSION!
